About Annapurna Circuit Trek

Among all the trekking trails in the Himalayas, Annapurna Circuit Trek is no doubt the best package that involves a perfect balance of adventure and cultural experience. Trekking through remote villages and beautiful valleys, you will be exploring diverse vegetation and climatic zones. Cross the most challenging and the highest pass in the Himalayas, Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), and get blessed in one of the holy pilgrim's sites in Nepal, Muktinath (3,800 m).

Annapurna Circuit Trekking is for those adventurer hearts who are seeking a journey of thrills and challenges in the western Himalayas. The villages along the trail present you with the daily lifestyle of locals and their culture & tradition. You will be visiting ancient monasteries and caves. Likewise, the trek takes you on short excursions to hidden places during the acclimatization days.

Itinerary

At Kathmandu airport, you will meet with our airport representative, who will welcome you and then escort you to the hotel. The day is free. You can walk around the bustling streets of Thamel and enjoy the rest of the day. In the evening, you will join a small welcome party organized by the company and end the day with a delicious welcome dinner.

Today, you'll spend the day visiting tourist sites in Kathmandu in the morning. In the afternoon, we'll prepare for the trek with our mountain guide.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar. Enjoy breathtaking views of the rushing Trishuli river, lush green hills, and waterfalls along the drive. From Besisahar, the route takes you to BhulBhule, where you will register the trek permits and spend the night.

Have breakfast and begin trekking towards Chamche. The route to these villages goes through small villages and lush forests. You can see beautiful scenery on the way along with the daily lifestyle of the locals. We then ascend to Jagat.

The trail moves along the Marsyangdi river and steeply ascends towards Manang valley. You reach Tal, where you can see several waterfalls. Further, trek through rice, potato, and barley fields to Kodo village. Crossing a suspension bridge, you ascend to Dharapani for a night's stay.

From Dharapani, you trek through lush forests of pine, maple, and oak. The trail goes along the Marsyangdi river and gradually ascends to Chame. On the way, you can see stunning views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV.

Trek through a steep narrow valley. Soon, you will see the first views of the Paungda Danda rock face, which is a huge rock rising 1,500 meters above sea level. As you will gain elevation, the view of surrounding mountains like Pisang Peak and Annapurna II will become prominent.

The trail from Pisang to Manang goes through Upper Pisang via Geru. There is another alternative route to reach Manang, but the one we will be following is exceptionally gorgeous. On the way, you can see views of Annapurna Range, Mt. Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, and Tilicho Peak. You will pass by Tibetan settlement areas. Stop at Barga monastery to explore and spend the night in the lovely Manang village.

The rest day in Manang is crucial to acclimate your body. Go on an adventurous hike to nearby places like Gangapurna Lake and explore caves & ancient monasteries. There are other places like museums, theater, cafes, and shops in this village, where you can spend the rest of the day.

Cross a stream and ascend to Tenkin village. From here, the trail comes out of the Marshyangdi river and heads northwest toward Jarsang Khola Valley. You will gradually pass by a few pastures and juniper trees to Gunsan. Further, cross a small river on a thrilling wooden bridge and walk on an uphill route to Yak Kharka.

Leaving Yak Kharka, you trek towards the foot of Thorong La Pass, the highest pass in Nepal. The trail ascends to a ridge and descends to the Marsyangdi River. Cross the river through a wooden bridge and follow a narrow trail that leads to Thorong Phedi.

You will wake up early in the morning to get ready to cross the Thorong La Pass. The trail from Thorong Phedi slowly ascends along a rugged and steep path to the top of the pass. Crossing this pass is strenuous, but the views that welcome you upon reaching the top of the pass are phenomenal. You can see panoramic views of numerous snow-capped Himalayan mountains. The trail then drops down to Muktinath, a pilgrimage site.

Before leaving Muktinath, wake up early and visit the temple. Explore the surrounding area and have breakfast. After that, you will trek towards Jomsom. On the way, you will come across the deepest gorge in the world, Kali Gandaki Gorge. The trail goes through fine mountain villages and apple orchards. Walk through beautiful alleyways before reaching Jomsom.

We descend to Tukuche, enjoying stunning snowy peaks and beautiful scenery. The trail descends through lush forests and small settlement areas. You get to enjoy natural hot springs in Tatopani.

From Tatopani, we drive back to Pokhara. The scenery you will get to see during the drive is unlike any other place. In Pokhara, you will get an entire day to rest and explore. Do visit the Lakeside Market and enjoy the sunset on Phewa Lake.

You can drive or fly to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Either way, you get to see gorgeous landscapes. Upon reaching Kathmandu, head to the hotel. It is your last day in Kathmandu, therefore do the packing as well. In the late evening, meet with the team members for the last time over farewell dinner.

Today, you will fly back to your next destination. Pack your stuff and get ready to drive to the airport. Our airport representative will help you with that.
